Oak furniture made from this hardwood oak tree is getting scarce and expensive. Most of the Oak Trees are grown in North America, Europe and Russia. As they are of the hardwood varieties, they take years to mature. Some oak trees are more than a thousand years old. With sustainable logging and replanting, oak trees are made available for furniture making and flooring. The days of using oak for boat hulls are over except for decorative trimming and furniture in modern boat building. The oak furniture is both arrogant and everlasting. There are many antique furniture sets still in existence after they were made thousands of years ago.
